Your photos never leave your control

Arcana is designed so that nobody but you can see your photos and videos, not even its developer. Here is, simply, what the app handles and where your data goes.

Encrypted on your device
Your photos and videos are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device, before being written to disk. The encryption key is created on your device and kept in the system keychain. It is never sent to the developer or any third party.
iCloud sync
Sync between your devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad) uses Apple's CloudKit, in a private space tied to your iCloud account. Only encrypted data is sent there.Apple's infrastructure is only a private transport between your devices. The developer has no access to this space. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy.
On-device analysis
Text recognition, face detection and categorization run entirely on the device, using Apple's Vision framework. No image or extracted text is ever sent anywhere.
Photo library
Access to your photo library is only used to import the photos and videos you choose, and, if you ask, to remove the originals after import.
Location
If you allow it, Arcana finds where an imported photo was taken so you can search and organize your photos by place. The place name is obtained on the device or through Apple's geocoding service, without the photo itself being sent.
No account, no tracking
No sign-up, no email address, no usage statistics, no advertising, no tracking SDK. No developer server receives your photos, videos or metadata. Nothing is sold or shared.
Deletion
Deleting a photo, video or folder in Arcana removes it from your vault and from your private iCloud space.Uninstalling the app erases the data on that device. Data already synced to your other devices stays until you delete it there too.

In short: what you keep in Arcana stays encrypted and under your control alone, on your devices and in your private iCloud. Contact : binetmickael@me.com
